Best Practices for integrating Bim and Structural Analysis  (2.5 PDH)

Coordinating construction documentation with structural analysis models is a task that structural engineers face on a daily basis. In this presentation we will review some best practices for integrating Revit Structure models with structural analysis and design tools including ways to prepare Revit templates for optimal analysis interoperability, modeling techniques to help eliminate interoperability issues, and workflow processes to streamline production.

Brian Johnson, PE                 
Brian is a Technical Specialist with Autodesk focused on Autodesk’s solutions for structural engineers. He is a licensed structural engineer with over 10 years of building design and consulting experience. During that time he worked as a Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Principal on a variety of structures including, commercial and office buildings, parking garages, single-family residences, and mixed-use facilities. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Brian is also a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Texas (SEAoT).  Brian has  also served various roles with SEAoT, Austin Chapter including Secretary and President.
