CRSI - Building Value and Efficiency With Concrete (1.0 PDH)

The Structural Engineers Association of Ohio, Dayton Section, is pleased to welcome Tony Johnson of the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) for a presentation on building value and efficiency with concrete.

Tony's topic is “A presentation reviewing reinforcing steel production, fabrication, specifications, recent specification changes, new technology, and the application of mechanical couplers.  Voided concrete floor systems, including a review of historical systems showing an evolution of the technology resulting in modern systems utilizing hollow plastic spheres cast into a flat concrete plate floor system will also be presented. Design methodology, including CRSI’s design guide will be reviewed. Case studies will be presented to show the range of project which have utilized voided flat plate floor systems across the United States. The presentation will conclude with a brief introduction to CRSI Concept program, a web based preliminary design tool for reinforced concrete floor systems.”
