Dayton Children's Hospital Patient Tower - Structural Presentation & Tour (1.0 PDH)

Join us for a tour of the still under construction new Dayton Children's Hospital Patient Care Tower. This is a new eight-story, 260,000 sf facility which will house the NICU and patient beds with future shell space for imaging and surgery.  The presentation and site visit will focus on the structure of this wide-module concrete framed building including both gravity and lateral loading.  Points of interest will include the tower crane foundations, efficient design of the concrete frame for efficient forming, steel framing of the entry and penthouse, and reinforcing of the existing structures.

In order to participate in the tour, proper safety shoes are required.  Danis will provide hardhats and safety vests.

Danis Construction will be providing lunch for all attendees during the structural engineering presentation prior to the tour.

Benjamin Van De Weghe is the Chief Engineer at Shell+Meyer with over 15 years experience. Ben specializes in multi-story concrete and steel frame structures, especially those including deep foundations and those built over top or below existing structures.
